Access Officer under the Disability Act 2005

The Office of An Coimisinéir Teanga has appointed an Access Officer in accordance with sub-section 26(2) of the Disability Act 2005.

The Access Officer is responsible for providing or arranging assistance and guidance for people with disabilities in accessing services provided by the Office of An Coimisinéir Teanga. The Access Officer acts as a point of contact for people with disabilities wishing to access such services.

Inquiry Officer under the Disability Act 2005

In accordance with Section 38 of the Disability Act 2005, a person may complain to the Office of An Coimisinéir Teanga if they consider that the Office is not complying with that Act. The Office has appointed an Inquiry Officer to investigate complaints made under Section 38 of the Act.

The Office of An Coimisinéir Teanga promises to deal with every complaint fairly in accordance with the facts of the case.

The Inquiry Officer will investigate complaints privately and if the Inquiry Officer finds that a valid complaint has been made, she will prepare a report on the matter.

If it is found that the Office has not complied with the Act, steps will be taken to ensure future compliance to the maximum possible extent. A copy of a report on the matter will be provided to An Coimisinéir Teanga, the appropriate manager and the complainant.
